New York City FC returns to action on Wednesday night when Sporting KC are the visitors to Yankee Stadium.
Hereās nine reasons to make your way down to the Bronx for our next gameā¦
- The Race is On! With only eight games to go in the MLS Regular Season, NYCFC are well-positioned for that automatic place in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Five points clear of third-place Columbus and six clear of Chicago in fourth, a win against KC would be huge.
- Opportunity Knocks. With Yangel Herrera, Alex Ring, David Villa and Rodney Wallace away on international duty, there could be opportunities for some players we havenāt seen as much of so far in 2017. All the more reason to get along to lend your support!
- One Time Chance. This is the only time weāll face Sporting KC in 2017 in the Regular Season, so make sure you donāt miss out!
- In-Form KC. Sporting KC are one of Major League Soccerās leading lights in 2017. They currently sit in third-place in the Western Conference but have games in hand on the teams above them. If they win those games, they will leapfrog Seattle and Portland. This one should be epic.
- Boys in Blue. Weāre in pretty good form, too! NYCFC is unbeaten in four matches, winning three and drawing one in that time.
- Home Comforts. NYCFC has only been defeated once at Yankee Stadium in 2017 and only once in the last 14 months of Regular Season play. Help defend the castle!
- Double Header. This is the first of two games at Yankee Stadium in three days, with us returning there on the following Saturday when Portland are the visitors. It could be a huge few days in the Playoffs race and we need your support.
- The Chase. Although catching Toronto in the Supportersā Shield race looks a difficult task on current form, anything can happen in soccer. All NYCFC can do is keep on winning to keep the pressure on our Canadian rivals and keep trying to close the nine-point gap. This is our game in hand on Toronto, so the margin could be down to six with a win.
- Entertainment Value. Tickets for NYCFC games have got to be some of the hottest in town given recent events in the Bronx. In our last three games, weāve defeated Chicago 2-1 with ten men for more than 80 minutes, come from behind to win the Hudson River Derby with Villaās first hat-trick for the club and defeated New England with a stoppage-time winner from Jonathan Lewis. What happens this time? Donāt sleep on itā¦
