New York City FC forward Adam Nemec has been named to the Slovak National Team ahead of their EURO 2016 qualifier against Luxembourg on Friday in Žilina, Slovakia.
The 29-year-old, who was acquired on Feb. 2, 2015, has two goals in 14 caps for his country at the senior level. His most recent goal came in a 2-0 EURO 2016 qualifying victory over Macedonia on Nov. 15, 2014.
Nemec has started all three matches for New York City FC this season.
Slovakia currently top EURO 2016 Qualifying Group C with a perfect 4-0-0 record (12 points).
Nemec is the second New York City FC player representing his country this week. Rookie forward Khiry Shelton was called up to the United States Under-23 squad for a pair of friendlies.
