New York City FC midfielder Mehdi Ballouchy has been voted by the fans as the Etihad Airways Player of the Month for May.
The 32-year-old Moroccan scored twice and is currently tied for the team lead in goals this season with forwards David Villa and Patrick Mullins. Ballouchy found the back of the net in the 3-1 loss to the Seattle Sounders on May 3 and scored the first goal that helped the Club rally for a 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire on May 15.
Ballouchy started four games in May and came on as a substitute in another. On the season he has 11 appearances with nine starts.
Also nominated for the Etihad Airways Player of the Month honor for May were Villa and goalkeeper Josh Saunders.
