New York City FC is pleased to announce that Andrés Perea has been named the Etihad Player of the Month for July.
The former Orlando City midfielder continued to underline his importance to Pascal Jansen's side throughout the month, helping New York City dictate the tempo of games with his composure in possession, relentless defensive work rate, and intelligent positioning.
Whether breaking up opposition attacks or driving the team forward, Perea provided the balance that allowed the team to thrive. After playing the full 90 minutes in the Club's 2-1 road win over the Columbus Crew, he produced his standout display of the month against Chicago Fire FC at Yankee Stadium.
Recording two assists in New York City's 3-1 victory, Perea combined defensive steel with creative quality to inspire a crucial three points.
