New York City FC (NYCFC) today announced that Los Templados #12 is officially recognized as the Club’s second Supporters Group.

Brad Sims, NYCFC CEO, commented: “Whether it’s a home or away match, Los Templados has consistently showed up throughout the years, bringing the noise and energy that our Boys in Blue need. From their unmissable orange shirts to their drums and singing before and during every game, Los Templados has become a core part of the NYCFC fanbase and family.

“We are proud to welcome Los Templados as an Official Supporters Group of the Club, and we can’t wait to see and hear their support throughout this season as we look to bring another MLS Cup to New York City.”

After the Club’s inaugural game in 2015, a group of friends came together to create a barra for NYCFC. The goal was to bring the style of support popular across Latin America. Los Templados #12 was born March 27, 2015, and now its many members can be seen at every NYCFC home game, wearing orange and playing the drums throughout the entire match.

Joty Salas, Los Templados 12 President, said: “Los Templados are very grateful NYCFC has recognized us as an official Supporters Group and allowed us to be La Barra Oficial De NYCFC. We understand the high standards that come with being an officially recognized Supporters Group and will uphold the Club’s values and expectations. All the work we have put in since day one supporting the Boys in Blue and creating the atmosphere in our bleachers and away games will now be even greater. We have gotten so many votes of confidence from the players, staff and of course our fellow supporters and we will not let down from what we have become. We are excited to continue making our sections louder and better with our drums and passion, and the goal is to make every game feel like that magical afternoon in Portland.”
