New York City FC announced today that its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, New York City FC II, will face USL Championship side Hartford Athletic in the Third Round of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at 7pm ET on Wednesday, April 17 at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford, Connecticut.
The ‘Boys in Blue’ secured their spot in the Third Round following a 4-2 victory over their Hudson River rivals, New York Red Bulls II, in Queens on Tuesday, April 2. Their performance has positioned them as one of only three MLS NEXT Pro teams to advance in the tournament.
