Pascal Jansen | "We Prepare For A Busy Schedule."

New York City FC are prepared for a busy week ahead, according to Head Coach Pascal Jansen.

Jansen’s side is riding a three-game unbeaten streak following a win against Charlotte FC this past weekend. With Inter Miami visiting Citi Field on Wednesday before a weekend clash with the Red Bulls, Jansen confirmed that preparations won’t be disrupted by the congested schedule.

“Business as usual,” he said. “Everybody is prepared to play matches. Unfortunately, the schedule doesn’t allow for much rest in between, but that’s what it is. We prepare the guys for it, making sure everybody stays available and ready to play.”

Miami’s squad has been bolstered by the mid-season arrival of Argentine international Rodrigo De Paul from Atlético Madrid. Jansen acknowledged the midfielder’s influence on the team’s style of play.

“It’s another quality player added to their squad,” he said. “They already had plenty of talent—exceptionally so. It’s been interesting to see how their play has developed since he arrived, and we’ve spotted a few subtle changes. But overall, he just adds more quality to an already very strong side.”

Meanwhile, Jansen praised the impact of New York City’s new signings, Raúl Gustavo and Nicolás Fernández Mercau.

“Personality-wise and quality-wise, they’ve both added something important to the dressing room,” he said. “They bring the extra quality we were looking for, and both are flexible enough to play multiple positions, which helps the team while maintaining high standards. Mentality-wise, they’re winners. They’ve brought energy and a winning mindset to the group. We’re very happy they chose to join our project, and you’ve seen their impact in recent games, though there are still plenty more to come.”

With momentum on their side, NYCFC will look to extend their unbeaten run as they prepare for two challenging matches that could shape the next stage of the season.

Maintaining focus during a positive run is essential, and Jansen highlighted the club’s proactive approach to keeping energy levels high both on and off the field.

“We have several tools in our program and in our approach to managing people, all designed to keep us proactive,” he said. “It’s about maintaining energy throughout the team, in the dressing room, in the building—making sure we focus on the right details going into training and matches. In general, it’s about staying proactive in every scenario, whether you’re in a good phase or facing challenges. That’s how you achieve consistency and keep both players and staff in a positive mindset throughout the season.”
