Tekkers: Five of the Best...

Harrison Tekkers

Any team containing the likes of David Villa, Andrea Pirlo and Jack Harrison is bound to see some happy feet over the course of a campaign.

Weā€™ve already looked at assists and funniest moments, today we look back at five of the slickest skills we saw in 2016.

Whether on the training field, at Yankee Stadium or on the road up and down the country, there are some beauties here that will have you hitting up the yard on Thankgiving Day trying to replicate.

Without any further ado, here are five of our top pieces of tekkers caught on the NYCFC cameras in the season that wasā€¦

Eye of a Needle

ā€œImpossible is Nothingā€ when youā€™re David Villaā€¦

It looked like there was nowhere for El Guaje to go against Orlando in March but where thereā€™s a will, thereā€™s a way.

Ready for the Floor

Ahead of the first leg of our first-ever MLS Playoffs game in Toronto, Steven Mendoza and Patrick Vieira had some fun at the end of the final training session.

A test of Mendozaā€™s agility and reflexes, weā€™d say that the Colombian more than passed this exam given to him by the gafferā€¦

Jack Flash

This wonā€™t be Jackā€™s last entry on the listā€¦

Check out these clean feet here ā€“ no, we didnā€™t speed up the video!

Houston Has a Problem

Sometimes tekkers is about more than stepovers or turns - sometimes just one touch will do itā€¦

David Villaā€™s sublime take into space against Houston and finish from the most acute of angles, won the MLS Goal of the Week award in October and itā€™s definitely a strike which holds up to repeated viewings.

Jackā€™s Flip-Flap

No compilation of skills from this season would be complete without the move which led to Jack making the final for AT&T Goal of the Year.

This stunning flick against Montreal Impact send the fullback out into the stands before Jack curled the ball beautifully around the goalkeeper.
