New York City FC is pleased to announce that Luighi has been named the Etihad Player of the Month for August.
The forward arrived from Palmeiras in his native Brazil and quickly showed why the Boys in Blue were so eager to bring him to New York.
He scored his first MLS goal against the Philadelphia Union, displaying tremendous composure from the penalty spot.
Luighi then found the net again against FC Cincinnati, producing a composed finish after making an intelligent run into the box.Â
After a bright start to life in MLS, Luighi will now look to build on his early success and continue making his mark during the remaining games of the 2026 season.
